"PEOPLE" is defined as
How the organisation manages, develops and releases the knowledge and full
potential of its people at an individual, team-based and organisation-wide
level, and plans these activities in order to support its policy and strategy
and the effective operation of its processes.
THERE ARE FIVE SUB-CRITERIA WITHIN THE PEOPLE CRITERION
3a People resources are planned, managed and improved.
3b People's knowledge and competencies are identified, developed and sustained.
3c People are involved and empowered.
3d People and the organisation have a dialogue.
3e People are rewarded, recognised and cared for.
People
are all of the individuals employed by the organisation including full time,
part-time, temporary and contract employees.
The actions and policies pursued under this criterion are assessed both
for the formal policies and processes in place AND for evidence of successful
outcomes. Because the Business Excellence model is a coherent structure, there
are direct links to the PEOPLE criterion from Leadership, Strategy & Policy
and Processes.
This enabler criterion is reflected in the People Results criterion later
in the model.
